The Essence of Scorpio: Intensity, Passion and Depth

Oct302024

Scorpio the Scorpion with Esoterical Elements

Scorpio (October 23 – November 21), a Water sign along with Cancer and Pisces, is celebrated for their intensity, passion, depth, and transformative abilities. Symbolised by the Scorpion, Scorpios embody resilience and determination, akin to their symbol's ability to survive and regenerate.

Their magnetic presence draws others in, reflecting their profound emotional depth and mysterious allure. Ruled by Pluto and traditionally Mars, Scorpios possess a powerful blend of ambition, intuition, and strategic thinking. These traits make them adept at delving into the depths of situations and uncovering hidden truths, qualities that serve them well in careers such as psychology, investigation, and research.

Much like their symbol, Scorpios have a penetrating gaze that reveals their keen insight and unwavering resolve in pursuit of their goals. Scorpios may avoid being vulnerable and showing their emotions out of fear of getting hurt. They are so driven by success they can sometimes struggle with jealousy.

Scorpio’s birth flowers are Geranium, Black-Eyed Susan, Anemone, and Peony. Their birthstone is Topaz, their Bach Flower is Chicory, their NZ First Light Flower essences are no 22, 23 and 24. Scorpio is associated with the Solar Plexus Chakra.

Australian Bush Flower Essence Lake Baikal White Light Essence

Australian Bush Flowers White Light Angelic Essence

I felt that this essence was in tune with Scorpio when I read through ABF’s range of Spiritual Essences. The Lake Baikal Essence helps one to find and balance the Divine masculine and feminine within themselves.

You may not be aware of this very potent range, however, if you’re a Scorpion light worker or Scorpio is in your 6th House, you will want to know more about this essence.

When Lemurian civilisation chose to abandon spirituality for sensuality and pleasure, the energy on the planet dropped and became denser. Lake Baikal holds that original energy prior to the density developing when the Earth and humanity flowed fully and clearly from the stillness of their hearts that was at one with the Divine. The Lake Baikal Essence allows you to access this pure uncorrupted peacefulness and pure 'at onement'.

The remedy, by capturing the pristine, energetic essence of Baikal engenders faith and trust in life and a calmness and acceptance of unfolding change. This Essence is timely as it can accelerate understanding and opening to the new energies of unity, global oneness, balance and harmony – all of which will greatly help us with the changes that are starting to happen around us on all levels. It is very important if you want to move smoothly through any upcoming changes that you start to really spiritually nurture yourself and open to a deeper level particularly within your heart centre, which this Essence will assist in.

 Birth Stone

Topaz, the stone of Scorpio, is associated with the planet Pluto and embodies transformation, strength, and clarity. Known as a powerful stone for truth-seekers, Topaz helps Scorpios harness their inner wisdom, enhancing their intuition and self-awareness. It brings emotional balance, instilling a sense of calm and peace during turbulent times.

 Chakras and Crystal Healing

Scorpios, as water signs, possess deep emotional intuition, which can harmonise with the fiery energy of the Solar Plexus chakra, linked to confidence, personal power, and transformation. This chakra, ruled by fire, is strengthened by yellow stones like Citrine, Amber, and Topaz.

To align it, Scorpios can focus on setting boundaries, pursuing goals, and embracing change. Practices like meditation, core-strengthening yoga, and deep breathing exercises can help balance this energy. Incorporating the colour yellow in daily life can further enhance the Solar Plexus chakra, blending Scorpio’s emotional depth with inner power.

 Aromatherapy

When it comes to essential oils and astrology, there are so many variations it can get confusing – every book has a different list. So here’s what’s worked for me in my clinic and personal space, as well as what my intuition has fed me. I tend to work with the ruling planet and elements, the moon phase, the astrological sign (it shows up our weak areas), and intuition along with the science of essential oils.  This month we have:

Black Pepper (Piper nigrum) When opening the bottle you get a strong, sharp, spicy smelling oil, slightly herbaceous. It is faintly reminiscent of clove oil. (A more fruity oil is produced from the fresh green fruit.). A symbol of strength and determination, Black Pepper ignites inner power and courage. It helps Scorpios embrace challenges and pushes them to face difficult emotions.

Black pepper oil can be used to help in the treatment of pain relief, rheumatism, chills, flu, colds, urinary-tract infections, congested lungs, fevers, increase poor circulation, exhaustion, muscular aches, physical and emotional coldness, nerve tonic, and fevers. It’s also been known to help with food poisoning and indigestion.

Actions: Analgesic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, antitoxic, aphrodisiac, carminative, diuretic, febrifuge, laxative, rubefacient, stomachic, tonic (especially of the spleen).

Bath

Coffee (Coffea arabica) Energising and awakening, Coffee brings clarity and sharp focus. It supports Scorpio's need for mental acuity and helps to clear away mental fog.

I was first introduced to Roasted Coffee essential oil in 2009, and even now there has been little research into what it does for the body, other than being an alternative to those who love coffee and can't drink it!

Anti-depressant, deodorant, diuretic, tonic

Bath

Tuberose (Polianthes tuberosa) Sensual and deeply mysterious, Tuberose enhances Scorpio's connection to their emotions and intuition.

Tuberose is an oil that tends to have an effect on the emotions, rather than physically in the body, although it does work through the blood stream as well.  It helps to dispel negative effects of stress, irritability, anger and confusion, and all the emotions in between.

Anxiolytic, narcotic

Bath

If you don't have any of these oils, you'll find a selection of them here
