Beeswax - Refined White

Beeswax is a natural substance obtained from the honeycomb of the honeybee.  This wax has been refined and via a gentle organic process some of the colour has been removed to produce a paler wax for cosmetics. 

Physically it is an creamy, hard wax in the form of a free flowing pellet approx 7mm dia and 20mm long, with a fine-grain matt, non-crystalline fracture, and a faint honey odour. 

Relative density is about 0.96. Practically insoluble in water, completely soluble in volatile and fixed oils. This one has a higher melting point than natural beeswax at approx 61-65°C.

It is used as a thickener, emulsifier or stiffening agent in various cosmetics, without changing the desired finished colour like a yellow wax can tend to do.

This beeswax is an excellent choice as a hardener in lip glosses, lipsticks, eye and lip pencils and mascaras if you want a pure beeswax option.

It is an ideal base for balms, as long as the recipient doesn't have a bee allergy. 

USAGE: Approximately 2-5% of your formulation. Use in the Oil Phase.
