Weather Changes Lower the Immune System

I hope this finds you well and in time for you to boost your immune system before the colds and flu's start their cycle in your area.
There has been a lot of research over the last few years on Probiotics and Vitamin D and their role in immunity and thyroid function. I have noticed a difference in myself with taking high doses of prescribed Vitamin D from my GP (Holistic Medical Centre) as my levels were very low due to my coeliac's disease and the associated malabsorption syndrome with it.
With Probiotics, you do need to boost regularly (they're here for a good time, not a long time), and with the right types that are required for your body at the time as each individual strain is unique in now it works in the gut).
Last year with Covid our flu cases here in NZ dropped - due to isolation and lots of hand washing... however this year they are on the rise again... we're obviously getting slack about hand washing again as a nation!
In 2011 I contracted the Australian Influenza virus through a work colleague whilst I was contracting... I hadn't had a flu or cold in over 10 years so it was a bit of a shock to my system and I ended up in hospital via ambulance as I was struggling to breathe and had already used my son's asthma neubliser and my peak flow was dropping rapidly instead of increasing. Turns out I had patches of pneumonia in my lungs, along with the virus and the hospital sent me home to isolation as they didn't want the strain of virus I had. Apparently it had taken down a lot of the staff in the hospitals in Brisbane and Sydney and was a very fast acting flu. So prior to landing in hospital, I was using my Herbal Elixir... and the hospital staff and my GP were amazed that my x-rays showed my lungs weren't as solid as my breathing made them sound. Being allergic to antibiotics, this was a very big concern. So Steve (hubby) brought me home, had to work from home to look after me and I continued with my elixir and my GP upped my Vitamin D, added in 1000mg Vitamin C every hour and a high dose of Iodine as well... I hate taking supplements and I felt like I rattled... but it did work!
So, instead of going downhill my style, I highly recommend my usual form of keeping the bugs at bay... which I did get slack with due to working and being tired.
My usual routine is a Probiotic daily (for my gut as well as immunity), a Multivitamin high in antioxidants and minerals (1 in the morning with breakfast when I feel I need it), high dose Vitamin D supplement (1 a day for a week, then 1 per week for the next 3 weeks), Vitamin B12 (when I remember - it's a liquid so I'm slack with that), and an Adrenal Support.
