Amor Personal Lubricant Range

Amor Personal Lubricants are a totally natural product using organic ingredients, with no known side effects (other than fun!!).

Originally designed to combat vaginal dryness in menopausal women, pre-launch trials were held using a trial group spanning the ages 20 - 60 and including both gay and heterosexual social groups. The feedback from all participants has been excellent.

Amor Personal Lubricant works by complimenting the body’s natural lubrication, and prolonging the effectiveness of the body’s own secretions. Our gel is slippy, and stays that way!

Original - our original blend

• naturally deodorising, and with the added bonus of Bergamot and Cypress essential oils that are known healers of thrush and other women's troubles.
• It contains no sugars or artificial sweeteners (as per all our lubes) and has a pleasant taste and discreet feminine fragrance.

Patchouli Musk - remember those little pink smoker lollies?   They are flavoured with Patchouli oil, as is this exquisite blend. Here’s our version, sexy, musky & much more fun! Add to that the amazing properties of Patchouli essential oil, and you will understand why we've also used this in our formulation.

• It's well known for it's amorous mood setting properties, however not so well known for its ability to reduce anxiety... a factor we consider important if you've experienced painful tearing during intercourse.
• It has amazing tissue regeneration abilities, so helps heal the tearing and reduces inflammation.
• It's naturally deodorising, and has built in antifungal and antibacterial properties, helping you feel cleaner and more feminine, especially if you're prone to candida and vaginal infections.

Warming Cinnamon - This will bring a tingle to your senses! Slowly warming, may get intense for a few minutes, however it’s all good, and the side effects are rather interesting too...

• This is due to the Cinnamon Leaf essential oil being a skin irritant however we don't add enough to this blend to aggravate your sensitive areas other than that wee tingle to help your natural lubrication start flowing.
• Cinnamon is also a natural analgesic, so if sex is painful, this will help ease the discomfort (once you've adjusted to the tingling).
• Please do not use during pregnancy, unless you are near your due date and your baby is healthy and ready to be delivered as Cinnamon essential oil is an emmenagogue (brings on contractions). Theoretically, our dose isn't high enough to do this, however everyone is different.

Ok, so that's all the sales blurb done and dusted.  Want to know how this really came into creation back in 2005?

Having had a hysterectomy due to endometriosis at 29, I then went into menopause.  This was great until I turned 38 when suddenly disaster struck, well it seemed like it at the time! Vaginal dryness - literally within weeks of my birthday, and a complete shock to the system  I was rather traumatised, as I'd never ever had a problem like this before.  So the inevitable happened... we started looking at lubricants.  I have major allergy problems with parabens and mineral oil based products, and as we wandered around Pharmacies, Supermarkets, Sex shops, and the web looking at lubricants, one thing became abundantly clear -  there wasn't anything I could use!

My husband had the bright idea that if we couldn't buy a suitable one, then we should improvise and make our own.  I had the manufacturing/chemical interaction experience, he had the 'drive' to push the 'project' forward (more of a compulsion really).  Then the fun really started, as we played with different ideas and formulas, with lots of product testing (at least that's what he called it). Eventually we arrived at a formula that worked really well and we were happy with which is water based and uses natural plant gums and extracts which are known to be allergen free. 

I chose the essential oils, very carefully for their therapeutic properties, and perfected a blend that is deodorising and a natural anti-fungal agent.  He was also very emphatic that it should taste good too, as the flavoured lubricants on the market are usually sickly sweet, (generally full of artificial sweeteners which carry their own associated problems) and; the unflavoured ones, in his opinion tasted disgusting.  

We were happy with it, a couple of our friends were given some 'presents' and having played with it, said it was better than anything they'd tried.  Over dinner one night, one of them suggested that we should sell it.  The idea didn't seem too far 'out there' as at the time lubricants were starting to be advertised as mainstream products in Supermarkets, so we decided to do some market research and give it a go.

Our constant experimentation had resulted in 4 blends which we really liked, and we arranged a trial using a focus group covering a broad age range (20 - 60) and a wide cross section of lifestyles.  The results were extremely encouraging and resulted in the 3 blends we now sell.  The fourth blend was very popular too, however due to the essential oil blend used, we couldn't achieve an effective shelf life.  So we have kept that as an exclusive blend just for us....
