Peppermint relieves digestive muscle spasms, indigestion, nausea, irritable-bowel syndrome.  It also destroys bacteria, viruses, and parasites in the digestive tract.

Small amounts stimulate the skin’s oil production and relieve itching from ringworm, herpes, scabies, and poison oak and ivy.

Peppermint is used in liniments to help relieve muscular aches, inflammation, and spasms, although too much can burn the skin.  It can help heal bruises as it stimulates blood flow to the area and increases lymphatic drainage of dead tissue.

As a stimulant, the scent counters insomnia, shock, mental fogginess, lack of focus, and “stuck” emotions.

Peppermint also relieves sinus and lung congestion, and is often found in chest rub formulations.

Skincare / Perfumery: Can be used as a steam inhalation for oily and congested skin, however care has to be taken not to burn the eyes with the molecules as they evaporate.
