Description: A yellowish oil with a fresh, citrus aroma reminiscent of the fresh peel from the fruit.
Major constituents: A typical chemical composition of Lemon Essential Oil:
a-pinene (1.8-3.6%), camphene (0-0.1%), b-pinene (6.1-15.0%), sabinene(1.5-4.6%) myrcene (1.0-2.1%), a-terpinene (0-0.5%), linalool (0-0.9%) b-bisabolene(0.56%), limonene (62.1-74.5%), trans- a-bergamotene (0.37%), nerol (0.04%), neral (0.76%).

Indications: Lemon oil may be used in a vaporiser or a massage oil to relieve nervous tension, unrest, stress, irritability and mild anxiety. Its astringent and mild circulatory stimulating properties improve the condition of varicose veins. Lemon Essential Oil is cooling and drying and it is recommended to clear heat, dampness and phlegm. For this reason it is considered an excellent detoxifying essential oil.
Emotions: The fresh citrus scent of lemon is purifying and stimulating. It encourages awareness, clarity of thought and is emotionally invigorating.
Skin care: Lemon oil is used for the treatment of congested, devitalised and oily skin.
Directions: Adults: Add 5 drops to oil vaporiser or bath or 4 drops to every 10ml carrier oil, 1-3 time daily. Children: Half the adult dose.
Safety: Lemon oil should not be used topically in the presence of UV light ie. sunbathing, sunbeds – may cause photosensitivity.
