Citronella oil from Java contains not less than 85% alcohols and 15% aldehydes while the oil from Sri Lanka contains 55-65% acetylizable alcohols (geraniol) and 7-15% total aldehydes (citronellal).
Indications: Citronella oil is well known for its ability to repel insects.
Emotions: The fresh, sweet, citrus scent of citronella is refreshing and uplifting.
Skin care: Citronella oil may be used for combating excessive perspiration under the guidance of a clinical aromatherapist.
Directions: Adults: Add 5 drops to oil vaporiser.
Safety: Citronella oil is generally considered to be non-toxic, non-irritant and non-sensitising, however it may cause contact dermatitis in some people.
