Description: Grapeseed Oil is used as a base oil for many creams and lotions. It is the preferred carrier oils for many massage therapists because of its light, satin like finish. It also has some astringent qualities and is good for oily, acne prone skin.
Aromatic Description: Grapeseed Oil is odourless and characteristic of most carrier oils.
Strength of Aroma: Subtle
Colour: Golden Yellow with a Hearty Green Tone.
Consistency: Grapeseed is one of the Lightest carrier oils available.
Absorption: Easily Absorbed.
Blends well with: Grapeseed blends well with other vegetable oils, butters and emulsifying waxes.  Ideal for adding to thicker oils to improve absorption.

Fatty Acid Profile: The major fatty acid is linoleic acid (69%) followed by oleic (15.8%), palmitic (7%), stearic (4%), alpha-linolenic (0.1%), and palmitoleic (>1%) acids depending on the source country.

Common Uses:

Grapeseed Oil is heavily used in massage therapy, cosmetic manufacturing, and in aromatherapy.

It is a skin conditioning agent that is emollient, non-greasy and ideal for dry, tired and mature skins. It is suitable for facial skincare blends as well as massage blends.

Apricot oil can be added to creams and lotions at 100% of the oil content, or blended with other vegetable oils. 

Best form of Application:

To skin - Massage, compress, bath, ointment, skin care

History: There isn't a lot of information about the history of grapeseed oil, however grapes have been growing in the Mediteranean for centuries and the seeds are a byproduct of wine making. 
Shelf life:

Grapeseed oil is quick to go rancid; users can expect a shelf life of 3 to 6 Months with proper storage conditions (cool, out of direct sunlight). Refrigeration after opening is recommended and can extend the shelf life up to 2 years.
