Australian Pink Clay (Kaolin)

This lovely pale pink clay is a soft and silky quartz kaolin that will help replenish and regenerate the epidermal layer of the skin, helping to soften your appearance and give your skin a healthy glow.

I use it as an ingredient in my foundation pigments for cool skin tones.  Can also be used in cosmetics for a matte finish.

Usage levels:

• 5 - 40% in masks
• Blend into the product when cool
• Homogenisation is recommended

Incompatibilities:

• Dissolves in highly acidic and highly alkaline solutions. 
• When buying in larger quantities, we recommend you use a plastic spoon to measure out and mix your clay in a glass or plastic bowl.

This item is constantly replenished as this is a key ingredient in our cosmetic bases. 

Note: In late 2018 the mine extracting the Australian pink clay was closed due to exhausting the natural clay desposits. In order to maintain supply of the same specification product New Directions commenced manufacturing the pink clay from Australian mined kaolin and Iron oxide pigment. This produces a clay with the same characteristics and chemistry and the original product but via a slightly different process.
