Zinc Oxide is an inert cosmetic ingredient use most commonly for its antibacterial, UV-A and UV-B protection properties.
It is also used for its soothing effects with skin irritations, as well as to thicken lotions and creams.
Zinc oxide is used to whiten products, as well as for its SPF factor - 5% will provide a SPF factor of 2-5 depending on your other ingredients. From a chemical and microbiological point of view, it is exceptionally pure and is recommended for drugs and high quality cosmetic applications, (foundation, eyeshadow, lip colours).
Safe for use on lips, eyes, face, nails.
Titanium Dioxide can be used in lieu of Zinc Oxide
