Method of extraction: Steam distillation

Description: A colourless to pale-yellow oil with a sweet, balsamic yet refreshing aroma, reminiscent of pine needles.

Major constituents: A typical chemical composition of Cypress Essential Oil:

a-pinene (20.4%), camphene (3.6%), sabinene (2.8%), b-pinene (2.9%), -3-carene (21.5%), myrcene and a- terpinene (1.1%), terpinolene (6.3%), linalool (0.07%), bornyl acetate (0.3%), cedrol (5.35%), cadinene (1.7%).

Indications: Traditionally used for fluid congestion and retention, whether it be lymphatic, phlegmetic or congestive acne.

Skin care: Cypress is recommended for oily skin.

Directions: Adults: Add 3 drops to bath, vaporiser or 2 drops to every 10ml carrier oil.

Safety: Cypress oil is generally considered to be non-toxic, non-irritant and non-sensitising, however it is recommended for over 7's.
