Description:

It is rich in vitamin E and is a unique liquid wax used as an oil. Furthermore, it had a stable, long-lasting penetrative nature. Jojoba has a very close chemical composition to the skins own sebum.

Absorption: Readily absorbed by all skin types.
Blends well with: Jojoba blends well with other vegetable oils, butters and emulsifying waxes.  Jojoba readily absorbs and prolongs the aromas of essential oils and plants added to it.

Fatty Acid Profile: The major fatty acid is eicosenoic (76.7%) followed by erucic (12.1%), oleic (9.3%), linolenic (0.73-1.03%) and nervonic (1%) acids depending on the source country.

Common Uses:

Lubricant and hair conditioner, Jojoba closely resembles the natural moisturizing oil, sebum, that is secreted by human skin. Suitable for all skin types, beneficial for spotty and acne conditions. Due to its fine texture, Jojoba is easy to wash out and is ideal for combating dandruff and dry slaps.

Best form of Application:

To skin - Massage, compress, bath, ointment, perfume oils, skin care

History: Jojoba is a slow-growing and difficult plant to cultivate, and is mainly used for pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. It was originally used as a replacement for old recipes using whale oil and its derivatives, such as cetyl alcohol. In 1971, the US banned importation of whale oil which led to the discovery that jojoba oil is "in many regards superior to sperm whale oil for applications in the cosmetics and other industries"
